Overview
State context
Nevada has enacted meaningful state-level protections. AB 281 (Nevada Trust Act, 2019) limits law enforcement cooperation with ICE civil immigration detainers. Las Vegas has a large immigrant community, and Clark County School District — the fifth largest in the country — serves tens of thousands of students from mixed-status families. The state has generally moved toward stronger protections in recent years.
